Lineup Club: Refund & Returns Policy
Effective Date: 01/12/2025
1. Introduction
This policy outlines the terms for refunds and returns at the Lineup Club. By making a purchase or signing a membership agreement, you acknowledge and agree to the terms set forth below. Our policies are designed to be fair to our members while ensuring the sustainable operation of our club.
2. Membership Fees

General Rule: Membership fees are non-refundable, except as required by South African consumer protection law.

Cooling-Off Period: If you have signed a membership agreement off-premises (e.g., through a direct marketing channel), you may have a 5-business day cooling-off period as per the Consumer Protection Act (CPA). This does not apply to agreements signed on our premises after a trial or tour.

Exceptional Circumstances: Refunds or pro-rated credits for membership fees will only be considered in exceptional, unforeseen circumstances (e.g., permanent medical relocation) at the sole discretion of Management. Any such request must be made in writing.
3. Food, Beverages & Consumables (Café/Snack Items)

All sales of food, beverages, and snacks from the club are final.

No refunds or credits will be issued for consumed or purchased consumable items, including coffee, soft drinks, snacks, and pre-packaged goods.

In the rare event of a genuine quality issue (e.g., spoiled product), please notify staff immediately for a replacement or club credit, at Management’s discretion.
4. Club Shop Products (Cues, Equipment, Accessories, Apparel)

Condition for Return: Products must be returned in their original, unused, and resalable condition, with all original packaging, tags, and accessories included, within 14 calendar days of purchase.

Handling Fee: A 15% handling and restocking fee will be deducted from the refund amount for any eligible shop product return. This covers administrative costs and the depreciation of goods once removed from our inventory.

Proof of Purchase: A valid receipt or club account charge record is mandatory for all returns.

Non-Returnable Items: For hygiene and safety reasons, earned or purchased custom items, and opened containers of chalk, cue tips, or cleaning products are final sale and cannot be returned.

Refund Method: Approved refunds will be issued via the original method of payment (e.g., back to credit card or club account credit) within 10 business days.
5. Damaged or Faulty Goods (Shop Products)

If you receive a product that is damaged or faulty upon receipt, please notify us within 48 hours.

We will arrange for an inspection and, if verified, offer a repair, replacement, or full refund (without the 15% handling fee) at your choice.

This does not apply to damage caused by misuse, normal wear and tear, or after the product has been used.
6. Pool Table Sales & Major Equipment

Due to the custom nature, size, and delivery logistics, all sales of pool tables are final once the order is confirmed and/or delivery is scheduled.

Specific warranties for manufacturing defects will be provided by the table manufacturer and administered by us as the agent. These warranties do not cover a change of mind.

A separate, detailed sales agreement will govern all table purchases, superseding this general policy.
7. General Provisions

Discretion: The Lineup Club Management reserves the right to make final decisions on all refund and return requests.

Abuse: We reserve the right to refuse returns or suspend this privilege for any member who, in our reasonable opinion, abuses this policy.

Policy Updates: We may update this policy. The current version will always be available at the club and on our website.

CPA Rights: This policy does not infringe on your statutory rights under the South African Consumer Protection Act regarding defective goods or services not rendered.
8. How to Initiate a Return
For eligible shop products, please contact the Manager on duty or email accounts@lineup-club.co.za  with your receipt and reason for return. Do not bring used items back to the club without prior authorisation.
This policy ensures clarity and fairness for all our valued members.
