Code of conduct

Our Commitment to a Fair and Respectful Environment!

 

The OHM t/a Lineup Club Pool Championship Series is dedicated to providing a competitive, fair, and enjoyable environment for all players, venue staff, patrons, and officials. This Code of Conduct outlines the standards of behavior expected from every participant. By entering this venue and any events it hosts, you agree to abide by this code.

 

  1. General Respect and Fair Play

 

  • All participants must treat everyone with respect, including opponents, venue staff, spectators, tournament officials, and sponsors.
  • Harassment, intimidation, or abusive behavior of any kind—whether verbal, physical, or online—will not be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to, language related to race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or disability.
  • Any form of cheating, collusion, or manipulation of match outcomes is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate disqualification and possibly a ban from future events or remedial action.

 

  1. Sportsmanship

 

  • Win with Class, Lose with Dignity. Shake your opponent’s hand (or use a respectful gesture) before and after every match, regardless of the outcome.
  • Congratulate your opponent on good shots. Avoid excessive celebration intended to demean or intimidate.
  • Accept all rulings by the tournament director or venue official gracefully and without argument. You may request clarification respectfully, but the official’s decision is final.

 

  1. Pool Etiquette

 

Participants are expected to understand and practice standard pool etiquette:

 

Respect the Game Flow:

  • Do not disturb an opponent who is at the table preparing for or taking a shot. Remain seated or standing quietly at a reasonable distance.
  • Avoid standing directly in the opponent’s line of sight.
  • Avoid chalking your cue during your opponents turn.
  • Keep your chalk on hand and do not leave it on the table during your opponents turn.

 

Respect the Equipment and Venue:

  • Handle all pool cues, balls, and tables with care. Do not throw, slam, or misuse equipment.
  • Do not place chalk on the rail cloth or place drinks on the table.
  • Use the venue’s ashtrays and trash bins. Help keep the playing area clean.

 

Be Ready to Play:

  • Be at your assigned table and ready to play when your match is called. Excessive delay may result in a forfeit.
  • Have your break cue, playing cue, and chalk ready.

 

  1. Conduct Towards Venues and Patrons

 

  • Participants are guests of the host venue and must adhere to all house rules.
  • All participants must be paying guests of the venue. It is expected that players will purchase food and/or beverages from the venue in gratitude for hosting the event or session.
  • Be mindful of non-competing guests. Do not interfere with their enjoyment of the venue.
  • Any damage to venue property caused by a participant will be the financial responsibility of that participant.

 

  1. Alcohol and Substance Use

 

  • Participants are expected to obey all local laws regarding alcohol and substance use.
  • Intoxication may be tolerated to an extent, there are boandaries and other considerations for behavior deemed disruptive due to substance use, which will not be tolerated and is grounds for immediate disqualification and removal from the venue for any planned events being managed by the club..

 

  1. Consequences for Violations

 

Failure to adhere to this Code of Conduct will result in disciplinary action, based on events and/or club representation, which may include, but is not limited to:

 

  • A formal warning.
  • Forfeiture of the current match.
  • Immediate disqualification from the tournament without refund of entry fee.
  • Temporary or permanent ban from all future OHM Ltd t/a Lineup Club Pool Championship Series events.
  • Possibly also a suspension or termination of membership.

 

The tournament director and venue management retain the sole right to determine violations and administer consequences based on the severity of the incident.
