1. Acceptance of Terms
Â
By applying for membership, signing this agreement, or entering the premises of The Lineup Club (“the Club”, “we”, “us”, “our”) as a guest, you (“Member”, “Guest”, “you”) agree to be bound by these comprehensive Terms and Conditions, which incorporate by reference all Club policies listed herein. These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Lineup Club.
2. Membership Structure & Access

2.1. Private Club Status
The Lineup Club is a *private members’ club. Access to the facilities is strictly reserved for registered members and their signed-in guests. The Club reserves the right to refuse membership or entry without providing a reason.

2.2. Membership Types & Fees
Membership types, fees, and billing cycles are as detailed in the Membership Application Form. All fees are non-refundable except as explicitly stated in the Refund Policy (Section 10) or as required by South African law.

2.3. Guest Privileges
Members may sign in a maximum of [e.g., 2] guests per visit. The host member **must** be present throughout their guests’ visit and is fully responsible for their guests’ conduct, adherence to all Club policies, and any financial liabilities incurred. Guest privileges may be revoked at Management’s discretion.
2.4. STRICTLY OFF-LIMITS AREA: THE RESIDENCE
*The private residence on the property is ABSOLUTELY OFF-LIMITS to all members and guests at all times. This includes all doors, patios, gardens, and pathways leading to or associated with the residence. Any attempt to enter or access the residence will be considered trespassing and will result in *immediate and permanent termination of membership and possible legal action. The Club’s facilities are confined to the designated workshop/converted club area and allocated areas only.

3. Code of Conduct & House Rules

3.1. General Conduct
All persons on Club premises must conduct themselves with respect, courtesy, and civility towards other members, guests, and staff. Abusive, discriminatory, harassing, or threatening behaviour will not be tolerated and will result in immediate expulsion and membership termination.

3.2. Incorporated House Rules
You agree to abide by the Club’s *House Rules, which are fully incorporated into these Terms. Key acknowledgments include:
– Adherence to designated *Quiet Hours (Sun-Thu: 9pm; Fri-Sat: 11pm) to respect our residential neighbours.
– Respect for equipment: no sitting on tables, proper use of cues and chalk.
– Smart-casual dress code.
– All decisions by staff regarding rule enforcement are final.

3.3. Safety & Security
– Members and guests use the Club facilities at their own risk.
– The Club utilises CCTV surveillance for security in compliance with POPIA.
– Emergency exits must remain clear.
– The Club is not liable for loss or damage to personal property.

4. Fair Play & Billiards Etiquette
All gameplay is governed by our *Fair Play Policy, which promotes sportsmanship, integrity, and respect for the game. Members agree to:
– Accept opponents’ and staff’s rulings on rule disputes gracefully.
– Refrain from disruptive behaviour, excessive celebration, or intentional distraction.
– Manage game pace considerately during busy periods.
– Report any equipment issues to staff immediately.

5. BYO Alcohol Policy

5.1. Licence Status & Condition
The Club is *BYO (Bring Your Own) only and does not sell alcohol. The privilege to consume personal alcohol is granted *conditionally upon full compliance with this policy and the House Rules.

5.2. Corkage Fee & Limitations
– A *R 50 corkage fee per person applies to any individual consuming alcohol.
– Only *beer, cider, wine, and sparkling wine are permitted. *NO SPIRITS, LIQUEURS, OR FORTIFIED WINES.
– Quantities must be reasonable for personal consumption only.

5.3. Responsible Consumption & Liability
– *Strictly no service to persons under 18. ID may be requested.
– The Club adheres to Responsible Service principles. Staff may refuse consumption to any intoxicated person.
– *Members are personally and fully liable for their and their guests’ conduct, safety, and transportation. The Club, its owners, and staff are *indemnified against any claims arising from alcohol consumption.
– Alcohol may only be consumed by the member and their registered guests. No sharing with other patrons.

6. Financial Terms & Retail Purchases
Â
6.1. Membership Fees
Fees are due as per the chosen billing cycle. Late payments may incur a fee and result in suspension of access.

6.2. Incorporated Refund Policy
All purchases are subject to the Club’s *Refund Policy, which is fully incorporated:
– *Membership Fees: Non-refundable except as required by law.
– *Food & Beverages: All sales final.
– *Club Shop Products: Returns within 14 days in original, unused condition with receipt. A *15% handling fee applies.
– *Damaged/Faulty Goods: Report within 48 hours for replacement/repair.
– *Pool Tables & Major Equipment: All sales final. Governed by separate manufacturer’s warranty and sales contract.

7. Data Protection & Privacy

Your personal information is handled in strict accordance with our **Privacy Policy** and the *Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), which are incorporated herein. This includes our purposes for data collection, your rights to access and correct your information, and our security measures.

8. Access to Information (PAIA)
Â
Our *PAIA Manual, prepared in accordance with the Promotion of Access to Information Act, outlines the procedure for formally requesting access to records held by the Club. It is available upon request from the Information Officer.

9. Quality Commitment
Â
The Club operates under a *Quality Assurance Policy dedicated to maintaining premium facilities, equipment, and service. We actively monitor standards and welcome constructive member feedback for continuous improvement.

10. General Provisions
Â
10.1. Amendments
The Club reserves the right to amend these Terms and any incorporated policies at its discretion. Members will be notified of material changes via email or posted notice at the Club. Continued use of the Club constitutes acceptance of updated terms.

10.2. Suspension & Termination
The Club may suspend or terminate any membership for:
– Breach of these Terms or incorporated policies.
– Conduct deemed harmful to the Club’s community, reputation, or neighborly relations.
– Non-payment of fees.
Termination forfeits all paid fees.

10.3. Force Majeure
The Club is not liable for failure to perform its obligations due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control (e.g., natural disaster, civil unrest, pandemic, utility failure).

10.4. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. Any dispute shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation with Club Management. Unresolved disputes may be referred to mediation or the appropriate South African courts.

10.5. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full effect.

10.6. Entire Agreement
This document, together with the specifically incorporated policies referenced herein, constitutes the entire agreement between the Member and The Lineup Club concerning membership.

Note: A hard copy will be issued for acknowledgement and acceptance upon first arrival to the club!
